Redeemer Church exists to pursue the glory of God and the joy of all people through worship, fellowship, discipleship, and mission. I have actually been thinking about that purpose statement  so regularly for so long now that it just rolls right off my fingers as I type, which I think is a very good thing. Over the last seven weeks I have preached through the purpose statement and the first three pillars. Tomorrow morning I will begin the fourth pillar – Mission. Interestingly, we will study 1 Corinthians 1:17-25. If assigned the topic of “Mission” to preach, most pastors would probably not choose this text as a first round draft pick. But for what we are trying to be and do as Redeemer Church Oxford I believe it is a critical passage for us to understand if we are going to reach our designated mission field. So if you’re reading this and planning to attend service tomorrow, try to take the time to read today or tonight to read through that passage and think about its message. The Holy Spirit can use that time to prepare your heart to absorb His truth more readily tomorrow. In the Lord’s will, I’ll see you in the morning!
